THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A BLIZZARD WARNING FOR: KEWEENAW, HOUGHTON, ONTONAGON, GOGEBIC, BARAGA, AND MARQUETTE. Blizzard conditions expected.

The National Weather Service has issued a BLIZZARD WARNING for the following counties: Keweenaw, Houghton, Ontonagon, Gogebic, Baraga, and Marquette. This marks our first blizzard warning of the season, and conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly as this storm moves in.
WHAT...
Expect full blizzard conditions, including periods of intense snowfall and extremely low visibility. Snow totals are forecast to reach 17 to 30 inches, with the highest amounts in areas of elevated terrain and locations closer to Lake Superior. Winds will be a major factor as well, with gusts up to 55 mph—especially across the Keweenaw Peninsula and shoreline communities.

Baraga, Gogebic, Keweenaw, Northern Houghton, and Ontonagon Counties.

WHEN...
From 7 PM EST (6 PM CST) this evening through 7 AM EST (6 AM CST) Thursday. The heaviest snowfall and strongest winds are likely to occur overnight and into Wednesday.

IMPACTS...
Travel may become very difficult to impossible, with white-out conditions developing as winds lift and blow deep powdery snow across roadways. Visibility will be sharply reduced at times, and hazardous conditions could heavily affect both the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes. Strong, persistent winds may also down tree limbs and power lines, leading to scattered power outages across the region.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Only travel if absolutely necessary. If you must be on the roads, carry a full winter emergency kit, including blankets, food, water, and a charged phone. Should you become stranded, stay with your vehicle—it provides both shelter and a better chance of being located by emergency personnel.

This storm has the potential to be significant. Stay updated with the latest forecasts, check on family or neighbors who may need assistance, and prepare now for rapidly worsening conditions. Stay safe, everyone.
For Marquette County.. 
Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations  between 8 and 22 inches, highest amounts in the terrain of western Marquette County, lowest amounts near Lake Superior and the far southern portion of the county. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph,  highest near Lake Superior.
For Alger County..
.Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations between 10 and 17 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph, highest near Lake Superior.

Major Cold Blast Incoming — Lake-Effect Snow Returns for Michigan.. A sharp drop in temperatures is on the way for Michigan beginning Friday, lasting through Monday and potentially into early next week. This stretch will bring well-below-normal temperatures, brisk winds, and periods of lake-effect snow, especially near the Great Lakes. --- OVERVIEW: Cold air will begin spilling into the region Friday as a broad upper trough settles across the Great Lakes. Daytime highs will struggle to climb out of the 20s and 30s, while overnight lows dip into the teens. CURRENT TRICK OR TREAT CONDITIONS:

Frankfort, Traverse City, Marquette, Munising, and possibly Muskegon, and Grand Haven could have poor trick or treating conditions for tonight, DONT CANCEL PLANS YET! Wait until 4 - 5 PM posts before canceling. The main issue for today is rain, and of course the cold. However the cold is way less of a problem then rain. Rain could completely ruin certain costumes or severely hinder them. Face paint-bassd costumes could be ruined for an example. If you live in these cities DONT CANCEL!  Night time is still several hours out. Thats enough time for things to change. Check back on this blog 4 - 5 pm EST.
