TODAY: Th- Thunderstorms?

Welcome! Today is an interesting one, because we have a general thunderstorms risk today and into Friday! Here's what you need to know:

Our seemingly endless parade of low-pressure systems continues tonight as another disturbance pushes through the Great Lakes. This next system will drag a cold front across the entire Lower Peninsula overnight, bringing a band of showers and possibly a few embedded thunderstorms.

While instability remains modest, a pocket of elevated storm fuel (CAPE) will move in around midnight, just enough to spark a few rumbles of thunder, especially across southwest Michigan. Don’t be surprised if you wake up to flashes of lightning and a quick downpour early Friday morning.

At this time, the main concern will be gusty winds within the line of showers, though most gusts should top out around 35–40 mph, below the severe weather threshold of 60 mph. Still, brief gusts could make driving tricky, especially on open roads. Lightning and minor ponding on roadways will be the primary hazards.

Behind the front, cooler air will quickly filter in, setting the stage for another active stretch of weather. Here’s what to expect over the coming days:

Friday: Scattered rain showers with isolated thunder in the morning, breezy throughout the day.

Saturday–Sunday: A chilly system brings a rain/snow mix, particularly during the overnight and morning hours.

Monday–Tuesday: Cold air deepens, allowing lake-effect snow to redevelop, especially near Lake Michigan.

All told, Michigan is in for a dynamic stretch of weather with nearly every type of precipitation making an appearance. Bundle up, keep the umbrella handy, and be ready for a few quick changes in the sky  it’s going to be a busy few days across the Great Lakes state.
Alright! Now to our regular schedule, the temperatures!
Highs will be around the low 50s, high-mid 40s across the state.
Lows? Low 40s - high 30s, some even lower.
Huh, well that was quick.
Thats pretty much the forecast today! This is probably the longest daily forecast yet, and its only going to get longer..
Stay safe, Michiganders! Or Michiganians..
